The 1812 Marine Guard for USS Constitution

Historic Marine Education, Inc. is an all-volunteer, educational, 501-c corporation headquartered at the oldest Marine barracks in the United States, located in the Charlestown Navy Yard – Boston, Massachusetts.

Our primary mission is to educate the public about all aspects of early 19th century life with a particular focus on maritime heritage and the U.S. Marines.

The unit partners with the U.S. Navy and National Park Service to present year-round educational programs for the public. The entire unit musters for “Underway Sailing Demonstrations” on board USS Constitution under the direction of the United States Navy. The Marine Guard is tasked to provide musketry training for sailors aboard USS Constitution and provides honors and ceremonies for the ship. The Guard also give lectures and makes appearances upon request.
