Come meet and talk with the USS Constitution 1812 Marines as we visit the home of Christopher Gore (1758 – 1827) during the Gore Place Annual Sheep Shearing Festival. Coming from a family divided by loyalties during the American Revolution Christopher Gore sided with the colonists. He was a lawyer, a diplomat and a Federalist politician. Gore would serve one term as Governor of Massachusetts and then go on to the US Senate, where as a Federalist he led opposition to the War of 1812.
